About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Lynx Therapeutics is responsible for processing time records, calculating biweekly payroll, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and laws. This role involves maintaining payroll records, preparing reports, and communicating effectively with managers and employees regarding payroll systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Calculate, review, and distribute pay according to university policy.
• Prepare reports and audits such as quarterly tax filings, reemployment liabilities, workers' compensation, 5500, and W-2's.
• Maintain payroll records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Communicate with managers and employees regarding payroll systems and processes.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all payroll and employee related matters.
• Contribute to team effort by executing special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Knowledge of state payroll rules and regulations; multi-state experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
• High attention to detail and ability to calculate figures and amounts accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer systems; Workday preferred.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Bachelor's preferred.
• At least two (2) years' experience processing payroll.
