About the position

The Payroll Specialist position is a critical role within our finance and accounting team, primarily focused on managing payroll processes for construction workers. This position requires a certified payroll specialist who is adept at processing payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all employees are compensated correctly and on time. The specialist will be responsible for calculating wages, overtime, and deductions, while also preparing and submitting certified payroll reports for government projects. Compliance with prevailing wage laws, such as the Davis-Bacon Act, is essential to this role, as is the management of payroll for union employees, which includes reporting union dues and benefits in accordance with union agreements. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will play a vital role in job costing by allocating labor costs to specific jobs or projects and assisting in the preparation of job cost reports. The specialist will also serve as a point of contact for employees, responding to payroll-related inquiries and resolving any issues or discrepancies that may arise. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in payroll, particularly within the construction sector, and who possess the necessary certifications to handle certified payroll and union payroll management. The role demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll operations.
