About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling plays a crucial role in supporting the company's payroll processes. This position is responsible for ensuring that payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with all relevant government regulations. The role involves managing multiple payroll groups, collaborating with HRIS, and providing technical expertise on payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the payroll processing of multiple weekly and bi-weekly payroll groups inclusive of Collective Bargaining Agreements Contracts
  • Ensure the payroll is in full compliance with federal and state laws
  • Ensure employee payroll is processed accurately and timely
  • Review weekly payroll reports for accuracy
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to ensure compliance in payroll setup
  • Maintain payroll system updates and ensure accuracy
  • Analyze payroll issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist in payroll accounting, transactions, reporting, stop payments and other operations
  • Oversee salary changes, compensations, deductions, bonus, and vacation/Paid Time Off (PTO) payouts
  • Process final checks for voluntary and involuntary separations from the company
  • Provide training and mentoring to team members
  • Facilitate training at the local level as needed
  • Assist in payroll and timesheet audit process
  • Assist employees with payroll issues
  • Review payroll issues and discrepancies and process necessary corrections
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures of payroll
  • Provide technical expertise and respond to payroll inquiries related to laws, rules, and regulations as well as Collective Bargaining Agreement Contracts
  • Implement processes to streamline payroll function
  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED with 0 to 1 plus years of payroll experience
  • Experience with federal, local, and state payroll laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented mindset
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance and/or Accounting
  • Experience with UKG or Kronos Timekeeping System
  • Experience working in a union environment
