About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at PrideStaff Financial, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all departments within the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include compiling, preparing, and entering timekeeping and payroll data, as well as computing and disbursing salaries, deductions, taxes, and other withholdings. You will be responsible for posting payroll data and preparing various reports that are essential for maintaining compliance and providing transparency in payroll operations. In this position, you will need to stay updated with the latest taxation laws related to salaries and benefits, ensuring that all payroll processes adhere to current regulations. You will also process and monitor garnishment orders and other factors that may impact payroll specifications. Additionally, you will prepare all related payroll reports, including tax payments, W-2 forms, child support, garnishments, and other year-end reports, which are critical for both the company and its employees. Maintaining an accurate database regarding salaries is another key aspect of your role, as is assisting in payroll audits to ensure compliance and accuracy. You may also be required to perform other clerical duties as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the payroll department.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years payroll experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry skills
