About the position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing and a deep understanding of payroll regulations and compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for employees on a regular basis, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, and maintaining employee payroll records while ensuring confidentiality. You will also be tasked with processing and auditing daily HR changes, including new hires, terminations, tax changes, and direct deposit changes. Responding to telephone and written inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolving such issues as they arise will be a key part of your responsibilities. Staying up to date with payroll regulations and compliance requirements is essential, as is collaborating with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Additionally, you will prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed and perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for employees on a regular basis
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality
  • Process and audit daily HR Changes including, but not limited to, New Hires, Terminations, Tax Changes, and Direct Deposit Changes
  • Respond to telephone and written inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve such issues as they arise
  • Stay up to date with payroll regulations and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Two (2) or more years of payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processing, filing, forms completion, and record keeping
  • Experience with cloud based HRIS system (Paylocity) a plus
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Customer service oriented; interpersonal with effective listening; ability to communicate across multiple levels of the Company
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, consistently meet deadlines, and proactively anticipate and address issues
  • Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements
