About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Lamb Weston is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with various regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal stakeholders. The Payroll Specialist will support day-to-day payroll operations and maintain the accuracy of payroll system data, contributing to the overall efficiency of payroll processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes to tax laws, labor regulations, and payroll-related legislation.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments for accurate processing of employee data.
  • Prepare termination and/or off-cycle checks.
  • Manage payroll cases and emails in a timely manner.
  • Maintain employee master data in the payroll system and audit it against Workday data.
  • Process garnishments, tax levies, and other non-voluntary attachments as required by law.
  • Participate in payroll projects and opportunities as assigned.
  • Compile, analyze, and document issues on payroll and related fiscal activities.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years' experience of processing payrolls
  • In-depth knowledge of country, federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws
  • Proficient in MS Excel including advanced formulas functions (VLOOKUP's, Pivot tables, IF statements)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards

Nice-to-haves

  • Multi-state, union payroll experience
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll software and systems
