In this position, the Payroll Specialist will manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring the accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits in compliance with state and federal labor laws. The role involves processing union payrolls, preparing certified payroll reports for submission to government agencies, and maintaining a deep understanding of certified payroll requirements for public construction projects, including the Davis-Bacon Act and related state prevailing wage laws. The Payroll Specialist will also monitor changes in federal and state labor laws affecting certified payroll and adjust processes accordingly. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Payroll Specialist will work closely with project managers, HR, finance, and accounting teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance. Effective communication with employees, union representatives, and regulatory agencies is essential to address payroll-related issues. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for generating regular payroll reports, maintaining accurate payroll records, and ensuring timely submission of payroll tax filings and other related documents.
