About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at DriveTime Family of Brands, you will play a crucial role in preparing and processing payroll data for multiple companies across various states using the UltiPro payroll system. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of payroll processes. You will be responsible for running daily, weekly, and monthly payroll reports, reviewing and auditing incoming employee data from Self Service and Onboarding systems, and responding to inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies. Your role will also involve calculating retroactive pay adjustments, verifying and auditing information prior to payroll transmission, and processing manual checks when necessary. Additionally, you will be expected to advise and mentor team members on complex payroll issues, resolve payroll, timekeeping, and tax-related issues, and manage help-desk tickets effectively. The ideal candidate for this position will operate autonomously, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with a variety of audiences, including management. Responsibilities

  • Run daily, weekly, and monthly payroll reports.
  • Review and audit incoming employee data from Self Service and Onboarding systems.
  • Respond to questions, research discrepancies, and resolve pay issues.
  • Calculate retroactive pay adjustments.
  • Verify and audit information prior to payroll transmission.
  • Process manual checks when necessary.
  • Advise and mentor team members regarding complex payroll issues.
  • Resolve payroll, timekeeping, and tax-related issues.
  • Answer help-desk tickets.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll experience required; payroll tax knowledge desired.
  • Moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Basic knowledge of multi-state payroll laws.
  • Experience working in multiple systems in a high-volume environment.
  • Superb customer service skills with an emphasis on phone skills.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of Workday Payroll experience.
