About the position

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Specialist in the retail industry. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and addressing any issues that arise. Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for employees in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including deductions, bonuses, and overtime, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and management, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with HR team to ensure accurate and seamless onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports and reconciliations as required.
  • Assist with payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or work experience equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in payroll administration, preferably in the retail industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in using payroll software (Paychex, ADP) and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
