About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Kruger Products will play a crucial role in the processing of payroll for both hourly and salaried employees. This position is essential for ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner, which includes handling weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for year-end payroll reporting and assisting with payroll accounting and account reconciliations. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a thorough understanding of payroll processes and legislation. In this position, the Payroll Specialist will collaborate closely with the HR team to maintain accurate payroll records. This includes verifying payroll adjustments for new hires, employee transfers, pay increases, terminations, leave of absences, vacation pay, and benefits, including 401K contributions. The role also involves preparing various payroll reports and remittances, ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll legislation, and processing Record of Employments (ROEs) in a timely manner. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll-related journal entries into SAP and preparing payroll account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems and software, particularly ADP WFN and Kronos, and will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams. Experience with JDE and SAP is considered an asset. This position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work, and is part of a larger team dedicated to making everyday life more comfortable for customers and employees alike.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing all transactions related to weekly hourly and bi-weekly salaried payroll in an accurate timely manner
  • Liaise with HR team to maintain accurate payroll records and verify payroll adjustments (new hires, employee transfers, pay increases, terminations, leave of absences, vacation pay, benefit, 401K contributions, etc.)
  • Assist with preparation of various payroll reports and remittances including year-end reporting forms
  • Process and issue Record of Employments (ROEs) in timely manner
  • Process payroll related journal entries into SAP and prepare payroll account reconciliations
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state payroll legislation

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 - 3 years of payroll experience
  • Detailed-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of ADP WFN, Kronos
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Teams
  • JDE and SAP experience would be an asset
