About the position

APN Software Services is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and related tasks. The role involves ensuring accurate payroll for employees, handling payroll adjustments, and maintaining compliance with various state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing and be able to effectively communicate with employees and management regarding payroll inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and input new hire information into payroll software.
• Follow up on timesheets from Monday to Tuesday during payroll week.
• Monitor client websites for pending or rejected timesheets before payroll week.
• Handle various payroll adjustments, including shortages, garnishments, and manual computations of gross and net pay.
• Process terminations and prepare manual checks for final pay.
• Mail paystubs to employees.
• Answer inquiries from employees and Account Managers regarding payroll.
• Enter changes related to 401K contributions, loan deductions, withdrawals, and transfers.
• Request updated Certificates of Insurance (COI).
• Sort incoming mail and faxes, and respond to unemployment and verification inquiries from other states.
• Answer phone calls and assist with filing and filling out forms for state correspondences.
• Handle audit requests from Account Managers.
• Perform quarterly filings for various state departments.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management.
