About the position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing the payroll process for a team of up to 200 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payroll laws and regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to maintain payroll records and resolve any payroll-related inquiries. The position also involves preparing certified payroll reports and collaborating with the HR team to ensure accurate employee information.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the calculation and processing of employee wages, including regular pay, overtime, and deductions for a team of up to 200 employees.
  • Ensure timely and precise payroll delivery.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll laws to guarantee compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll records, including employee details, hours worked, wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
  • Act as the primary contact for payroll-related inquiries, addressing discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
  • Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports in accordance with the Davis-Bacon Act and state prevailing wage laws.
  • Collaborate closely with the Human Resources team to ensure the accuracy of employee information, including onboarding, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
  • Manage sensitive employee information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Recent experience with Paychex is required.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
