About the position

The Payroll Specialist position is a critical role within the Finance department, primarily responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of payroll data. Under the supervision of the Manager of Payroll Time & Labor, the incumbent will engage in various tasks that include auditing, analyzing, and inputting payroll data into the payroll software. This role is essential for producing accurate employee paychecks and requires a keen attention to detail to maintain compliance with company policies and regulations. The Payroll Specialist will assist the payroll team in weekly payroll processing activities, ensuring that all tasks are completed within the target deadlines. This includes compiling and maintaining accurate payroll records in accordance with the policies of MPTN and MPGE. The position demands a collaborative approach, as the specialist must work well within a team environment while also providing exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries. In addition to data entry, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately entering and updating payroll information, which includes deductions, taxes, direct deposits, and garnishments. Proficiency in payroll processing software, particularly UKG Pro Workforce Management, is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, basic math skills, and excellent organizational abilities to ensure accurate record maintenance and compliance with payroll regulations.
