About the position

The Payroll Specialist position at Federated Hermes, Inc. is a contract role based in Pittsburgh, PA, responsible for supporting the global Payroll Administration department. This role involves various payroll-related tasks, including processing payroll changes, preparing invoices, and reconciling payroll reports. The position is hybrid, allowing for both office and remote work, and is expected to last for 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, prepare, input and verify payroll changes.
  • Preparation and processing of payroll invoices and funding authorizations for approval and payment.
  • Prepare and route payroll-related invoices for appropriate approvals.
  • Monitor and manually update all additions and maintenance of cost centers and job/job assignments in the Dayforce Organization Chart.
  • Responsible for processing system interfaces between PeopleSoft and Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Prepares and reconciles semi-monthly and monthly payroll reports to the general ledger.
  • Reconciles taxes for stock vesting events.
  • Inputs general ledger journal entries into Oracle as needed.
  • Prepares and reconciles FSA contribution and forfeiture accounts.
  • Validate 401k contribution, match and forfeiture import and edit reports.
  • Coordinates the onboarding of new hires.
  • Prepare the back-up and coordinates the annual Worker's Comp Audit for the US Payroll.
  • Reconciles taxable fringe benefits.
  • Prepares and reviews various time and attendance reports.
  • Prepares and distributes email correspondence on basic payroll tasks for terminating employees.
  • Provide back-up support to the payroll staff as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent education required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of payroll experience required.
  • Basic math skills and financial reconciliation experience required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word required.
  • Experience using Dayforce, Oracle Financials, and Peoplesoft preferred.
