About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Susquehanna International Group will play a crucial role in the preparation and processing of multi-state, semi-monthly payroll for over 1,900 employees. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment that encourages continuous learning and development, while also being involved in new initiatives and projects related to payroll. The specialist will collaborate with various teams to support payroll needs and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the processing and payment of bonus, shadow, and off-cycle payrolls throughout the year
• Review and approve employee job, name, and address changes to ensure accurate reporting and payroll processing
• Participate in complex projects such as the evaluation, implementation, and support of moving all new hire tax forms to payroll software
• Process employee verifications and letters of employment for current and former employees
• Support file generation and related troubleshooting for 401(k), HSA and other benefit plans
• Respond to employee inquiries
• Audit and reconcile benefit file feeds and the flow of data

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of multi-state payroll tax experience required
• Demonstrated working knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
• Extensive attention to detail and organizational skills
• Prior experience supporting year-end processes, process improvements and process automation required
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel required
• HRIS reporting strongly preferred
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience with UKG Pro is a plus
• Exposure to pre and post-tax benefit plans is a plus
