About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Life Time is responsible for compiling and entering payroll data, ensuring accurate employee compensation, and collaborating with HR and Benefits teams. This role involves processing bi-weekly payrolls, addressing employee inquiries, and resolving garnishment issues, all while maintaining a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Processes bi-weekly payrolls by preparing computer input forms, entering data regarding wages and deductions, and posting to payroll records.
  • Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  • Researches and provides documentation for the legal department.
  • Researches and responds to employee payroll inquiries.
  • Partners with HR and Benefits to ensure employee issues are resolved timely.
  • Researches and responds to garnishment inquiries.
  • Analyzes and audits financial reports and payroll deductions.
  • Assists clubs with monthly revenue payroll reports.
  • Reviews banking files to ensure accuracy and success of transmission.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of payroll experience
  • Ability to meet weekend commitments based on deadlines
  • Excellent organization and spreadsheet skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Certified Payroll Professional
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification
  • 2 or more years high volume payroll experience
