About the position

Kalaju Trans, LLC. is a leading provider of safe and reliable transportation services, dedicated to ensuring the well-being of students during their daily commutes. We are currently seeking a dedicated and punctual Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a payroll specialist, you will manage our organization's payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. You will work in our HR department and use financial and clerical skills to keep employees paid fairly. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization and ensuring compliance with labor laws and tax regulations. In this position, you will be responsible for calculating paychecks, checking timesheets for accuracy, withholding taxes and other deductions, and maintaining accurate payroll records. You will prepare and submit paper checks for employees who do not have direct deposit and assist employees by collecting banking information for direct deposit setup. Additionally, you will review payroll and reports for accuracy, maintain accurate tax filings, and ensure compliance with labor laws and tax regulations. You will also create accurate payroll reports, answer employee questions about payroll, collect timesheet data and payroll information, organize payroll storage and documentation, prepare and distribute income statements, and process accurate wage garnishments. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree preferred but not required. You should possess excellent attention to detail, exceptional mathematical and calculation skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work with a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential, as is adaptability to change. Knowledge of different types of payroll systems and a willingness to learn new systems is also important. Strong knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distribution, along with excellent multi-tasking abilities and good research and analysis skills, will contribute to your success in this role.
