About the position

Labcorp is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to execute all aspects of our payroll functions. This role involves handling payroll entries, processing weekly payrolls, managing on-demand check requests, and conducting audits to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing weekly payrolls accurately and in a timely manner. This includes handling payroll entries and adjustments, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company policies. You will also process on-demand check requests as needed, ensuring that all payroll-related tasks are completed efficiently. In addition to payroll processing, you will be involved in data processing, where you will process EIB's and ensure proper balancing. You will review and enter pay items accurately into the payroll system, which is crucial for maintaining accurate payroll records. Reporting and auditing are also key components of this role. You will run and analyze payroll reports to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies. Conducting regular audits of payroll data will be necessary to verify accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will be expected to address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner. Furthermore, you will handle HR Central tasks by responding to inquiries and tasks related to HR Central, providing support, and resolving issues as needed. Maintaining and updating payroll-related documentation and records will also be part of your responsibilities. Lastly, you will ensure that payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining confidentiality and security of payroll information.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of proven payroll experience preferred
  • Great Excel skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Systems experience, preferably Workday & ADP SmartCompliance
  • Good time management and prioritization skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Payroll or Accounting Qualification is preferred but not required
  • Degree is preferred but not required
  • Candidates must reside on Eastern or Central timezones
  • Candidates close to Burlington, NC office preferred
