About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Enbridge is responsible for managing payroll projects and providing expert knowledge in US payroll processes. This role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service by addressing payroll inquiries related to various regulations and corporate procedures. The Specialist will work closely with payroll teams and tax analysts to ensure compliance and efficiency in payroll management, while also contributing to the overall improvement of payroll systems and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and analyze complex US payroll matters and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Provide ongoing knowledge transfer and coaching to all Payroll Team members.
  • Support US Payroll Tax Analyst, Payroll Analysts, and US Payroll Account Analyst.
  • Manage accounts for all TAX agencies (State and Federal, WCB, SUI) and serve as the ADP Enbridge representative for Taxes and Garnishments.
  • Set up all Tax/State, WCB accounts as required with the agencies and ADP.
  • Review transactions related to acquisitions, mergers, and reorganizations and their impact on Payroll technology setup.
  • Act as Payroll and Time Subject Matter Expert (SME) on projects and initiatives such as acquisitions and Workday releases.
  • Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations as they apply to USA Payroll.
  • Review, process, and enter complex payroll events and functional processing.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy in US payroll management.
  • Support the ADP tax remittance process and reconcile monthly service fees with ADP.

Requirements

  • University Business degree or technical diploma in a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive payroll experience in a complex union/non-union environment.
  • US CPP or FPC designation; solid understanding of Workday US payroll.
  • Experience working with a third-party payroll provider, preferably ADP.
  • Expertise in compliance and HR requirements, including international assignments and taxable benefits.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
