Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing and accounting systems to guarantee accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions such as salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
• Accurately process payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
• Produce and maintain precise records and reports of payroll transactions
• Ensure adherence with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures
• Use advanced Excel formulas to analyze payroll data and generate reports
• Utilize Workday Payroll and Workday Financial Management systems for various payroll-related tasks
• Handle multi-state payroll processing and benefit functions efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role as a Payroll Specialist
• Proficient in Full Cycle Payroll operations
• Capable of handling Multi-state Payroll
• Proficient in using Workday Payroll and Workday Financial Management systems
• Strong knowledge of Benefit Functions
• Familiarity with Form 1099
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
