About the position

APN Software Services is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations for the company.

Responsibilities

• Obtain new hire information and update employee information in payroll software.
• Follow up on timesheets from Monday to Tuesday during payroll week.
• Check client websites for timesheets ahead of payroll week to monitor for any pending or rejected entries.
• Handle various payroll adjustments, including shortages, garnishments, and manual computation of gross and net pay.
• Process termination of employees and prepare manual checks stubs for final pay.
• Mail paystubs to employees.
• Answer inquiries from employees and Account Managers regarding payroll.
• Enter changes related to 401K contributions, loan deductions, withdrawals, and transfers.
• Sort incoming mails and faxes related to payroll.
• Respond to unemployment verification and inquiries from other states.
• Handle audit requests from Account Managers and perform quarterly filings for various state departments.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to commute to Newark, CA.
