About the position

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will focus on payroll functions and human resources as we transition to a new HRIS system. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, allowing you to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes during this transition. You will be responsible for utilizing various accounting software systems and tools to manage payroll operations effectively, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and maintaining accurate records. Your expertise will be essential in overseeing the auditing processes to guarantee the accuracy of payroll data and managing the migration to the new HRIS system with minimal disruption to payroll functions. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, as you will be handling sensitive information and ensuring that all employee benefits are accurately reflected in payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Accounting Software Systems and ADP Workforce Now to handle payroll operations effectively
  • Handle 401k - RRSP Administration for employees, ensuring all contributions and changes are accurately reflected
  • Utilize Ceridian and Dayforce for efficient and accurate payroll processing
  • Oversee auditing processes to ensure the accuracy of payroll data
  • Handle About Time tasks to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll processing
  • Manage accounting functions related to payroll, ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting
  • Manage the migration to a new HRIS system, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption to payroll processes
  • Process and audit payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Oversee benefit functions, ensuring employees' benefits are accurately reflected in payroll
  • Use skills in ADP - Financial Services to handle financial aspects of payroll processing.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
  • Familiar with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience in using Ceridian and Dayforce
  • Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration
  • Ability to work with About Time software
  • Capable of performing Accounting Functions
  • Experienced in Auditing
  • Able to handle Benefit Functions
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field preferred
  • Previous experience in payroll or a similar role
  • Certification in Payroll (CPP) is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong data entry skills.
