This position is temporary, covering maternity leave for approximately 5 months, and will follow a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days of work from home and 2 days in the office. In this role, the Payroll Specialist will utilize both Kronos for time and attendance tracking and Workday as the payroll system. The candidate must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy in payroll processing. Attention to detail is crucial, as the role involves compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws. The position is based in New York, New York, and offers a pay rate of $27 to $27.78 per hour, with work hours from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process, and distribute accurate and timely paychecks for employees.
  • Handle weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for both union and non-union employees.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of direct payroll processing experience required.
  • Experience handling bulk payroll for 700-800 employees, both union and non-union.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in Workday and Kronos timekeeping systems.
  • Strong skills in MS Suite, particularly Excel.
