About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with all relevant regulations. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of payroll operations and requires a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in payroll processing and will be able to work collaboratively with the HR department to ensure accurate employee records. The Payroll Specialist will also handle accounts payable and accounts receivable related to payroll, utilizing financial software such as Paychex and QuickBooks to process payroll efficiently. Understanding technical accounting principles is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position is full-time, with expected hours of 40 per week, and is located in person at our office in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for employees accurately and timely
• Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures
• Analyze payroll data and resolve any discrepancies
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee records
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable related to payroll

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices
• Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll
• Proficiency in using payroll software such as Paychex and QuickBooks
• Strong analytical skills to review and analyze payroll data effectively
