About the position

The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our HR team. This full-time position requires a detail-oriented individual with a high level of integrity, capable of managing confidential information with discretion. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the weekly processing of payroll and related tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. The role involves handling employee changes in location, position, labor distribution, and pay, as well as processing employee terminations and calculating vacation payouts. The successful candidate will enter these payouts into a pay data batch and create payroll reports as needed for various stakeholders, including locations, auditors, and governmental agencies. In addition to payroll processing, the Payroll Specialist will manage employment verifications, child support orders, and garnishments, ensuring that all special payroll information is accurately entered into the appropriate pay data batches. This position also includes providing payroll training to field supervisors and employees, fostering a culture of understanding and compliance within the organization. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of two years of payroll processing experience.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work independently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ADP Vantage is a plus.
