About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Liberty Healthcare Management is responsible for preparing and processing multiple payrolls weekly using the Lawson S3 system. This role involves maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and collaborating with HR and accounting departments to facilitate payroll-related tasks. The position requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in payroll systems and accounting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process multiple payrolls weekly in Lawson S3 system utilizing Work Force Mgmt. Web Time and Healthwyse.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned payroll 941's and cash flow spreadsheets.
  • Set up direct deposit information and follow up with facilities to ensure completeness.
  • Forward unemployment claims to the appropriate facility and partner for timely processing.
  • Prepare and type quarterly reports, e.g. 940, 941, SUTA, etc.
  • Process 401k transmissions and deferred compensation.
  • Set up, prepare and process garnishments for assigned payrolls.
  • Coordinate with accounting to ensure prompt accurate payments to garnishee.
  • Prepare and process year-end reports, W-2's, Annual Tax Reconciliations, and other State and Federal Reports in compliance with requirements.
  • Provide assistance to ensure all payroll processes are complete.
  • Partner with HR on dissemination of HR related materials, e.g. 401k, medical/health enrollment and miscellaneous notices.
  • Open, sort and distribute mail.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree in applicable field of study or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Above average math and English skills; effective written/spoken language skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal payroll and related tax regulations, legislation and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices, regulations and procedures.
  • Exceptional writing skills to prepare, update, consolidate and disseminate in-house policies and procedures manuals.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and MS Office.
