About the position

We seek a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with Paycor expertise to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. Utilizing Paycor, you will maintain and update payroll records, review and verify timesheets, and calculate and process payments for bonuses and overtime. Additionally, you will handle payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Collaborating with HR and Finance departments, you will contribute to seamless payroll operations and assist in audits as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for all employees using Paycor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions.
  • Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other documents for accuracy.
  • Calculate and process payments for bonuses, commissions, and overtime.
  • Prepare and distribute pay statements and annual tax forms (e.g., W-2, 1099).
  • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Assist in audits and provide payroll information as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and manage HSA/FSA/Dependent Care to maintain compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing and administration
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Proficiency in using Paycor for payroll processing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
