About the position

The Payroll Specialist at National Technology Integrators is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a diverse workforce. This role ensures compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining payroll records and acting as a point of contact for employee inquiries. The position involves collaboration with HR for onboarding and offboarding processes and requires proficiency in payroll software to manage complex calculations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for a diverse workforce on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.
• Maintain accurate payroll records for all employees, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
• Calculate and process payroll adjustments when necessary, including bonuses, overtime, and retroactive pay.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, including deductions, taxes, and benefits.
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data and onboarding information is entered into the payroll system.
• Generate and submit payroll reports to management and external agencies as needed.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role in payroll processing and administration.
• Knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience handling certified payroll and union benefits reporting.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Foundations or similar systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to address employee inquiries.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
