About the position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll for assigned programs, managing garnishments, travel reimbursements, and time-off accruals. This role ensures accurate payroll production and compliance with policies and procedures, while also providing support to program supervisors regarding payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for assigned programs, including collection and review of timesheets for accuracy.
  • Verify and audit payroll entries from HRB, including new hires, terminations, and rate changes.
  • Assist with the audit and reconciliation of payroll registers against timesheet documents post-processing.
  • Maintain and distribute the bi-weekly check distribution list, including checks and direct deposit vouchers.
  • Advise program supervisors on payroll policies and procedures.
  • Track and prepare biweekly garnishment reports for payment processing.
  • Prepare time off accrual reports and assist in reconciling accrual balances with payroll.
  • Generate and review payroll-related reports as needed by the Supervisor.
  • Update salary allocation changes in the ADP system.
  • Verify TPSP against vendor reports and update annual TPSP spreadsheets.
  • Prepare letters and follow up on outstanding pay statements.
  • Assist in report generation for biweekly audits prior to payroll transmission.
  • Process credit union deposit reports for fund transfers.
  • Review and file all PCNs, informing the Supervisor of any errors.
  • Assist in the analysis of bi-weekly General Ledger and overtime reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in a payroll environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
