About the position

The Payroll Specialist role at MYER Companies LLC is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This includes calculating wages, preparing payments, and resolving payroll discrepancies. The position plays a crucial role in maintaining financial records and supporting overall organizational efficiency, directly reporting to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Review time & attendance records daily and correct any issues as they arise.
• Compile weekly reports of employee time records for all MYER Companies' subsidiaries and any third-party contracted employees.
• Process data into Paychex® payroll system and distribute funds to employee accounts.
• Process and distribute annual W-2s for all MYER employees.
• Document and maintain all payroll records, including personnel files related to payroll, leave, and retirement programs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee lists for each MYER subsidiary within the ERP and HRIS software systems, including updating systems for any pay rate changes.
• Answer employee inquiries about payroll issues and concerns.
• Assist in the new-hire onboarding process and train employees on timekeeping procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Company payroll procedures, tax rules, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll records and processes, and make recommendations for continual improvement.
• Fill in at the Reception Desk and answer phones as needed during the absence or break times of the Receptionist.

Requirements

• 1 year of payroll experience
• Experience with Paychex® Payroll Services (preferred)
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Strong data entry skills
