About the position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll and maintaining employee records at Interstate, a family-owned company specializing in janitorial services. This role requires a highly motivated and organized individual who can work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. The position is full-time and based at the corporate office in Horsham, PA, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new hires and rehires into the payroll system.
  • Process employee changes and terminations.
  • Complete employment verification paperwork.
  • Process hours for payroll.
  • Process uniform requests, enter payroll deductions, and garnishments.
  • Filing, copying, and answering phones.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of payroll experience or related.
  • Current payroll experience is required.
  • Multi-state payroll experience is necessary.
  • Experience working with multiple sites is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn payroll software is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Paylocity or related system preferred.
