About the position

Robert Half is seeking a dedicated and experienced Contract Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of payroll processing for a renowned manufacturing firm in Tukwila, WA. The role requires a thorough understanding of payroll procedures and laws to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate processing of the company's payroll, including salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Prepare reports detailing payroll, deductions, leave, tax payments, and nontaxable wages.
  • Resolve any discrepancies surrounding payroll records.
  • Answer staff queries regarding payroll and tax deductions.
  • Maintain and record data related to vacation, sick leave, and overtime.
  • Handle changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles.
  • Work closely with the HR department to ensure accurate benefits deductions.
  • Prepare and execute pay orders through an automated system.
  • Ensuring all payroll operations adhere to company policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in a payroll position.
  • Fluent knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and proficient with payroll software.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong numerical aptitude.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
