About the position

Lauterbach & Amen, LLP is seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to join their Client Accounting and Advisory Services team. This role involves overseeing the full-cycle payroll process, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and serving as a liaison between various departments regarding payroll functions. Responsibilities

• Oversight of full-cycle payroll process including flow of information from HRIS, payroll and timekeeping systems.
• Ensure the bi-weekly files are created to issue direct deposits, checks, and wire transfers associated with payroll.
• Coordinate with Human Resources department to capture and process payroll updates.
• Act as a liaison to other departments regarding payroll functions and respond to payroll questions.
• Administer and serve as the main point of contact for timekeeping systems and payroll system.
• Process approvals for timesheets in a timely manner.
• Create reports, update schedules and shifts in timekeeping software, set up employees and supervisors, and review employee changes in systems.
• Review compliance filings including unemployment monthly and quarterly, federal and state tax returns, quarterly 941's and W-2's prepared by Paylocity.
• Understand government payroll rules and regulations including union contracts.

Requirements

• 3+ years payroll experience, governmental payroll experience a plus.
• Experience processing payroll in Paylocity.
• Strong verbal & written communication abilities.
• Desire to work in a team environment.
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities & organize efficiently.
• Highly motivated, self-starter.
