About the position

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll and maintaining accurate records in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role requires proficiency with ADP payroll software and involves managing payroll for a substantial number of employees, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and handling various employee types in a non-unionized setting.

Responsibilities

  • Processing payroll in a timely and accurate manner for a substantial number of employees.
  • Managing multiple company codes and ensuring that all information is correctly inputted.
  • Handling various types of employees, both salaried and hourly, in a non-unionized environment.
  • Applying accounting skills to manage the general ledger, including payroll journal entries and payroll taxes.
  • Utilizing ADP Workforce Now and other Accounting Software Systems in the execution of daily tasks.
  • Ensuring compliance with 401k - RRSP Administration.
  • Performing accounting functions and auditing tasks as necessary.
  • Managing and resolving customer inquiries related to payroll.
  • Performing benefit functions and managing related queries.
  • Utilizing the 'About Time' tool to effectively manage time and tasks.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is crucial.
  • Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is essential.
  • Proficiency in About Time software is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of Accounting Functions is needed.
  • Experience in Auditing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Benefit Functions is necessary.
