About the position

The Payroll Specialist role is a long-term contract position within the retail fashion industry, based in New York. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure accurate payroll processing, manage timekeeping processes, and maintain payroll systems effectively. The specialist will work closely with the benefits coordinator to align payroll and benefits processes, while also handling various payroll-related tasks and ad hoc requests.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Manage the timekeeping process effectively to ensure all data is current and accurate
• Enter data for payroll processing and ensure employees' information is uploaded correctly
• Maintain and manage the payroll systems effectively and efficiently
• Run queries as needed for various payroll-related tasks
• Partner with the benefits coordinator to ensure all payroll and benefits processes are aligned
• Manage all ad hoc requests related to payroll processing
• Maintain accurate customer credit records
• Regularly monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed
• Utilize various accounting software systems for payroll tasks.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with Ceridian and Dayforce software
• Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration
• Experience with About Time software
• Understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing
• Knowledge of Benefit Functions
• Proficiency in Kronos Timekeeping System and other Timekeeping software
• Experience in Payroll management
• Ability to use BI visualization tools
• Proficiency in Excel Formulas and Data Entry
• Previous experience in the Retail - Clothes & Accessories industry is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
