About the position

As a Payroll Specialist at Clearway Energy Group, you will be responsible for processing payroll to ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves maintaining precise timekeeping records and systems to track employee work hours, attendance, and leave, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of payroll practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process payroll for all employees.
  • Enter payroll adjustments and one-time payments.
  • Review employee payroll records.
  • Manage and monitor timekeeping systems to ensure accurate tracking of employee hours and attendance.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies in time records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements regarding timekeeping.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and file necessary payroll tax returns and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including overtime and minimum wage requirements.
  • Manage and update payroll and timekeeping software and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll and timekeeping system issues.
  • Prepare regular payroll reports for management, including payroll summaries and overtime reports.
  • Maintain payroll and timekeeping documentation and records for audit purposes.
  • Deliver reports to accounting in a timely manner for month-end close.
  • Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries promptly, including questions regarding pay calculations, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on navigating and utilizing the payroll software efficiently.
  • Assist employees in understanding their pay stubs, earnings statements, and any payroll-related documents.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees needing assistance with timekeeping issues, such as clocking in/out and reporting work hours accurately.
  • Conduct training sessions or provide one-on-one support to help employees effectively use payroll and timekeeping systems.
  • Coordinate with the benefits to manage employee benefits deductions and contributions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits-related payroll deductions.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll and timekeeping transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
  • Experience with payroll and timekeeping software.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent timekeeping skills and ability to manage time records accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Any experience with SAP Success Factors, SAP, WFS, or SAC EC Timekeeping.
