About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Vaco is responsible for managing payroll processing and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves handling payroll for a mid-sized employee base, managing payroll taxes and deductions, and addressing employee inquiries related to payroll matters.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll for 100-200 employees
• Manage payroll taxes, deductions, and benefits
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and file payroll tax returns
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters

Requirements

• 3-5 years of payroll experience
• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex)
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes and wage laws
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, FPC) a plus
