About the position

The Payroll Specialist role at Robert Half involves processing payroll for multiple employers within the professional services sector. This position is based in Asheville, North Carolina, and offers a contract-to-hire opportunity. The specialist will maintain accurate payroll records, manage client communications, and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll using Quickbooks Desktop and Online for multiple employers on a monthly basis
• Handling payments of payroll taxes via EFTPS
• Managing payments of multi states withholding and multi states unemployment
• Maintaining positive and patient customer verbal and written communication
• Efficiently managing time-sensitive processes in a high-paced environment
• Utilizing online timesheets for details in QBO and initiating reporting
• Making necessary changes and additions to payroll data as required
• Entering additional data such as Garnishments
• Collaborating with the payroll manager for processing tasks
• Managing approximately 100 clients as part of the role.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role within the Professional Services industry
• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now software
• Experience with 401k - RRSP Administration
• Familiarity with 'About Time' software
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing
• Proven experience with Benefit Functions
• Experience with Automated Payroll systems
• Knowledge of Benefits Payroll administration
• Experience in handling bi-Monthly Payroll
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
