Our corporate Finance department is hiring a Payroll Specialist to manage all payroll processing and maintain data integrity and confidentiality. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role involves collaborating with retail stores and departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery. The Payroll Specialist will assist in processing payroll for over 3000 multi-state retail associates, including the commissioned sales force. This position requires importing hours, commission, and bonus data from various sources into the UKG computerized payroll system to calculate and process bi-weekly payroll. The role also includes reviewing and auditing new hires, rehires, status changes, pay rate changes, and other transactions affecting net wages, deductions, and paid time off. In addition, the Payroll Specialist will audit and analyze employee information to ensure proper federal, state, and local tax laws are applied in all 18 states of operation. The role involves assisting with processing child support and garnishment paperwork and deductions, completing payroll employment verifications, and generating various reports, including detailed ad hoc reporting as needed by various business units. The Payroll Specialist will assist the Payroll Manager with quarter-end and year-end processing, respond to and resolve associate and manager payroll issues, and perform general ledger processing, account reconciliations, and other miscellaneous accounting duties. Administrative duties associated with the position, such as filing, mailing, and payroll documentation, will also be part of the responsibilities. The Payroll Specialist will perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing payroll for 3000+ multi-state retail associates, including the commissioned sales force

  • Handle administrative duties associated with the position (filing, mailing, payroll documentation, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma required with at least 5+ years of payroll experience
  • Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) or another web-based payroll system
  • Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and organization skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
