About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in payroll calculations, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in payroll software systems.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain and update employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately reflected.
• Handle accounts receivable related to payroll discrepancies or inquiries from employees.
• Utilize payroll software such as ADP, PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, or Ceridian for efficient processing.
• Prepare reports on payroll data for management review and audits.
• Assist in the implementation of new payroll systems or upgrades as needed.

Requirements

• Prepares and processes Payroll by applying application policy, regulation, and Union payroll.
• Conducts a detailed analysis and report to confirm accurate and appropriate payroll processing.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable functions is preferred.
• Proficient in using payroll software such as PeopleSoft.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.

Benefits

• Pay rate of $30.00 - $33.00 per hour
