About the position

The Payroll Specialist role is a full-time position focused on processing payroll for employees in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance, as well as proficiency in payroll software and Excel. The role is hybrid, requiring three days in the office, and is contract to hire, providing opportunities for permanent employment.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees accurately and timely.
  • Maintain payroll records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and provide insights on labor costs.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage employee benefits and deductions.
  • Conduct audits of payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Assist in the implementation of payroll system upgrades or changes.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Proficient in Paycom/Paylocity and Excel (advanced functions).
  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting preferred, or minimum 3 years industry experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the non-profit industry is highly preferred.
