The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in the Human Resources department, reporting directly to the Payroll Supervisor. This position is essential for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing for both Non-Exempt and Exempt employees. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for auditing timecards, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring that all payroll deadlines are met. This role requires strong communication skills and attention to detail, as the Payroll Specialist will work closely with the Payroll Team to maintain efficient payroll operations in a fast-paced environment. In this position, the Payroll Specialist will review timesheets on a weekly basis, send communications regarding necessary corrections, and approve expense reports for reimbursement. They will also review new hire and position changes to ensure proper payroll setup, process final pay for terminated employees, and assist with periodic payroll audits. The role involves reviewing payroll documentation for accuracy, making adjustments to garnishments, verifying employment, and updating employee tax profiles. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will communicate with the payroll service to resolve any system issues and assist with the development of projects, updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals as needed. The ideal candidate will possess proven analytical and problem-solving skills, superior customer service abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team. They must be organized, able to manage daily tasks effectively, and meet operational requirements within defined timelines.
