About the position

Branagh Inc is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Oakland, CA. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for all functions of the payroll process as well as the monitoring of Construction Prevailing Wage Compliance for the Company and Subcontractors. This role is crucial in ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the complete payroll cycle and will be adept at managing both union and non-union payroll processes. In this position, you will be tasked with processing weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees, preparing and processing payroll tax deposits, and generating monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. You will also manage union and non-union benefits and contributions, maintain accurate payroll records, and perform reconciliations as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for processing the company's prevailing wage forms and reports, as well as monitoring subcontractor prevailing wage compliance. This is a full-time position that requires a keen attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure compliance and accuracy in payroll processing, making this a vital role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process Weekly Payroll for Union and Non-Union Employees
  • Prepare and Process Payroll Tax Deposits and Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reports
  • Manage Union and Non-Union Benefits and Contributions
  • Maintain Accurate Payroll Records
  • Perform Reconciliations as Needed
  • Process Company's Prevailing Wage Forms and Reports
  • Monitor Subcontractor Prevailing Wage Compliance

Requirements

  • Understanding of the Complete Payroll Cycle and all Applicable Federal/State/Local Wage Regulations and Laws
  • Familiarity of Federal/State/Local Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Compliance for both a General Contractor and Subcontractors
  • Strong Analytical and Problem Solving Skills with a Keen Attention to Detail
  • Ability to Maintain Confidentiality
  • Degree in Accounting or Related Field
  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista a Plus
  • 2+ Years of Experience Processing Payroll and Construction Certified Payroll Reports
