About the position

We are seeking a proficient Payroll Specialist to join our team in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This role involves ensuring accurate processing of payroll and maintaining comprehensive records of employee timesheets. It offers an opportunity for long-term contract employment within the industry.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and manage employee timesheets, including work start and end times, and mileage records.
• Use accounting software systems effectively to ensure efficient payroll operations.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now and other ADP Financial Services for payroll processing and management.
• Regularly audit payroll data for accuracy and make necessary adjustments or corrections.
• Carry out Excel spreadsheet management tasks, utilizing Excel formulas and other Microsoft Excel functions.
• Conduct checks after payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Handle customer inquiries related to payroll, resolving them in a timely and satisfactory manner.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status.
• Ensure accurate and timely input of payroll data into ADP and other payroll systems.
• Administer 401k - RRSP Administration and other benefit functions as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas
• Knowledge of accounting software systems and payroll systems such as ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Dayforce, and About Time
• Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration
• Experience in auditing and accounting functions
• Familiarity with benefits functions
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field would be an advantage
