About the position

The Payroll Specialist at Keystone Cooperative Inc. is responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll process for employees. This includes ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time, addressing any inquiries related to payroll, correcting paychecks as necessary, and maintaining precise financial records. The role also involves preparing various payroll reports as needed and identifying opportunities to optimize payroll efficiencies within the Workday HRIS system. The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable pay statutes in state and local jurisdictions, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of the payroll process. In this position, the Payroll Specialist will process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring that all 401k deferrals and loans are accurate and up to date on a weekly basis. They will also be responsible for entering one-time payments and bonuses as required, reviewing and correcting timesheet entries, and resolving any payroll errors that may arise. Additionally, the specialist will handle direct deposit inquiries and issues, process wage garnishments through a third-party provider, and monitor and follow up on E-Verify cases. Completing verification of employment (VOE) requests and interrogatories is also part of the job, along with assisting with any quarter-end items as required. The Payroll Specialist may be assigned other duties as needed, making adaptability and a willingness to take on various tasks important traits for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of bi-weekly payroll
  • Ensuring 401k deferrals and loans are accurate and up to date, weekly

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Workday payroll processing experience (highly preferred)
  • Experience with managed payroll provider (preferred)
  • Experience as a payroll processor, AP/AR representative (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Ability to multitask
  • Good research and analysis skills
  • Knowledge of applicable pay statutes in state and local jurisdictions.
