About the position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing payroll accurately and efficiently. This role involves various payroll-related tasks, including entering payroll data, issuing paychecks, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The Payroll Specialist will also assist in benefits administration and support the financial team with payroll analysis and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and post weekly payrolls
  • Prepare and issue paychecks
  • Calculate and prepare payroll tax remittances (Local, State, Federal)
  • Manage benefits administration including enrollment, termination, and reconciling invoices and G/L accounts
  • Process union dues remittance
  • Administer payroll data including tax updates and other payroll data table administration
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of company payroll burdens
  • Handle document control administration
  • Assist the Controller, Payroll Manager, and Financial Officer with other administrative functions as necessary

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in payroll
  • Experience with union payroll
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Payroll experience in the construction industry
