About the position

PurposeCare is seeking a highly motivated Payroll Specialist to join our expanding payroll team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple companies within our organization. The Payroll Specialist will report directly to the Payroll Manager and will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of payroll data and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling, inputting, and processing payroll information to produce accurate paychecks on a weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly basis. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy, as the Payroll Specialist will need to thoroughly review payroll previews and make necessary adjustments before finalizing payroll runs. In addition to processing payroll, the Payroll Specialist will handle various payroll-related tasks, including processing withholdings, deductions, and wage garnishments. The role also involves interacting with employees, managers, and upper management to address payroll inquiries, assist with paperwork, and resolve any payroll issues that may arise. The Payroll Specialist will be expected to review and respond to emails sent to the Payroll email inbox and perform other duties as assigned by management. Responsibilities

  • Compile, input, and process payroll information to produce accurate paychecks for several companies on a weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly basis.
  • Ensure payroll data input is accurate, complete, and entered on time.
  • Thoroughly review the payroll previews and make the necessary adjustments.
  • Process withholdings, deductions, wage garnishments, or other special payroll changes affecting net wages.
  • Interact with employees, managers, and upper management to answer questions, assist with paperwork, and resolve any payroll issues.
  • Review and respond to emails sent to the Payroll email inbox.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of processing multi-state payrolls.
  • Outstanding team player skills.
  • Be results-oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Payroll processing experience (1-2 years preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a dynamic and fast-growing company environment a plus.
