About the position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll for construction employees, ensuring accuracy in timesheets and compliance with payroll laws. This role involves collaboration with HR and accounting departments to maintain seamless payroll operations and assist with year-end payroll activities.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for construction employees.
  • Verify timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documents for accuracy.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the payroll system.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations affecting the construction industry.

Requirements

  • Experience in payroll processing, particularly in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll software.
  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
