About the position

HR & Beyond is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to work remotely, with occasional local commuting to client locations. This role involves overseeing, preparing, and producing accurate payrolls for multiple clients across various states, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The position offers a non-traditional payroll career with less corporate politics, focusing on providing integrated HR support to entrepreneurial companies and fast-growth businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, prepare, and produce accurate and timely payrolls for multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Review electronic timesheets for accuracy and collaborate with clients to make necessary changes.
  • Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, commissions, and severance.
  • Review and validate payroll reports for accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Submit payroll reports to clients as needed.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and their employees, providing excellent customer service.
  • Process employee garnishments.
  • Handle new employee onboardings and offboardings.
  • Input employee changes and maintain deductions and banking information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 3-5 years of proven experience processing payroll, preferably with multi-states and multi-sites.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations (Federal, State, and Local), and best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP Workforce Now, Paycor, UKG, Paycom, Heartland, etc.
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented with proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent math and numerical skills.
