About the position

We are on the lookout for an experienced Payroll Supervisor (Of Systems) for our team in CHICAGO, Illinois. This role involves overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll regulations, managing payroll records, and developing and implementing efficient payroll processes and systems. The Payroll Supervisor will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of payroll operations and ensuring that all payroll-related activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll systems and processes, as well as the ability to lead and support a team of payroll professionals. In this role, you will oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state payroll regulations. You will manage payroll records, including verifying and reconciling timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring appropriate deductions. It is essential to maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll compliance standards and regulations to effectively develop and implement efficient payroll processes and systems. Additionally, you will provide training and support to payroll staff, handle payroll inquiries, and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise. Collaboration with HR and Finance departments is crucial to ensure seamless payroll operations. You will utilize high-level Excel skills for data analysis and reporting, and you will be expected to have proficiency in payroll systems such as UKG Ready, UKG Pro, Kronos Timekeeping System, and Lawson. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll, with a demonstrated ability to process high volume payroll for a large number of employees. Excellent organizational and leadership skills, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills, are essential for success in this role. Additionally, the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information is paramount.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Payroll
  • Proficiency in using UKG Ready and UKG Pro or Kronos is preferred
  • Experience with processing High Volume Payroll (11k Employees)
  • Familiarity with HR Payroll System
  • Demonstrated experience in Full Cycle Payroll
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role within payroll
  • Knowledge of payroll tax regulations
  • Experience with payroll software implementation
